Are you tired of doing thousands of partnerships and hardly seeing any results? Tired of advertising ceaselessly, with no one being willing to help you?
Well there's a strategy I've been deploying recently that combines the concept of 'partnering' with advertising, and it is far more effective than both advertising and partnering alone. In fact, I've seen at least a 1/3rd increase in growth for my server DGP since employing this strategy, and my growth stats lately have generally been between 70-100 net members gained per day. This is a significant improvement to my growth before undertaking this endeavor. The idea I am about to share with you was one I created randomly, due to the fact that I had been previously aware that the majority of the more effective advertising servers don't take down ads with multiple invites.
So you're curious how this works? You should be.
Time and time again I see novice advice being given to users from supposed growth experts who know next to nothing about how to grow a Discord server other than the most elementary of basics that many others utilize. I'm here to show you methods that go a bit beyond that, which you can use in conjunction with those methods for better growth.
So what's this super partnership method that this thread is about? Well I'll tell you. It's what I refer to as an ad merger. The way that it works is simple. You pair up with someone who's active within advertising servers, and good at growing his or her server independently through advertising servers, and you offer to merge ads (in essence, you'd be taking bits of your ad and bits of theirs, and combining it into one ad promoting both servers). Once the ad is made, you and your buddy both split responsibilities, taking it upon yourselves to equally advertise the ad on as many quality advertising servers you can, as often as you can, sharing relatively or close to even posting activity.
This method has increased DGP's growth by an average of 50 new members per day, to 70-100, with both myself and my partner (Heat) sharing advertising responsibilities, with us both promoting the ad on CallMeCarson, Sounds World, SPC, Discord Emoji & Servers, BadBoyHalo's Discord, Open Advertisements, EMPIRE, and many other servers. Below I will list some pros and cons to this method for your understanding on what not to do.
Pros of an Ad Merger:
- Growth can increase exponentially through shared promotion efforts between two ambitious server owners/promoters
- Allows one to 'sit back' and relax a little more, due to split responsibilities
- Growth gains (According to YAGPDB stats) illustrate that merging ads can speed the growth of both servers and
doesn't appear to disproportionately advantage one server over the other in likely most cases.
- Members don't have to settle with duos, but can even go further than that and form triads.
Cons of an Ad Merger:
- It can be difficult for many to find an appropriate partner to merge ads with
- It is easy for one person to apply far greater effort than their partner
- Some servers (AYS for example) don't allow multiple invites in one ad
- Some of the best servers for advertising are difficult for even one person to get in (CallMeCarson), or
require a certain level to advertise in (Sounds World)
Is an ad merger for you?
Given the cons, this method, although powerful, is simply not easy for everyone to undertake. However if you are equipped to undergo such an undertaking, I would heavily encourage you to do so. But remember that if not, ad mergers are just one of the many strategies I employ to grow quickly, along with using r/discorderservers, disboard, discord.me, and other services.
I don't think this strategy is for me. What can I do?
If this method isn't an option for you, there are a few other similar but less convenient options. One is using an alt to bypass cooldowns, although there are two major cons concerning this method. One is that it could potentially breach the server's rules (although many honestly don't care), and it also consumes a lot of time. Another alternative would be to find someone on your server who's willing to advertise your server alongside you. However in most cases, it is very difficult to find a loyal server member willing to promote your server to such an extent as they would likely lack the incentive to take such initiative without reward. There are other options as well, some of which I would heavily discourage due to the ability for them to breach server or website rules. However, I have found that the majority of ad servers (especially the better ones with unrestricted advertising channels) don't take issue with my and Heat's co-op.
Some advertising servers to join:
Many (but not all) of the advertising servers I use can be found here. Keep in mind that some of these servers are far more effective than others, with CMC, Sounds World, SPC, Advertising Boat, Kungarna, Open Advertisements, and a couple of others ranking at the top for me. Some of these servers are effective due to their size and growth, and some are effective due to their light rules.
Good luck everyone and happy advertising!
Here is a link to my merged ad, which in this case is a triad server partnership. All three servers have been growing by more than 50 members per day.
