🌀 Tip #1 — Growth Platforms 🌀
✅ If you've got money to spare, use it on these platforms.
Let's be honest - if you have money, you can absolutely use it to help your server grow. Don't fret, I believe it's only around 15 out of my 40+ net joins per day came from paid platforms. There are a couple of listing websites offering premium membership that you can use to maximize your growth potential. I will list the most effective sites in order.
Discord.me - Offers a 1 month platinum membership for $55, and a gold membership for $14. From my experience, Discord.me Platinum grows my server from around 7-15 members per day. It really depends on the server, and how quick you bump. Discord.me can be bumped once every 6 hours.
Discordservers.me - Offers a 1 month premium membership for $15. From my experience, I've gained around 3-5 users per day with their premium membership (gross gain, not net). This from my experience is near the same effectiveness as a Discord.me gold membership for a similar price. Discordservers.me doesn't require bumping.
DiscordSl - The cheapest of the premium options that I recommend. Offers a 1 month premium membership when you subscribe to the founder's patreon account for $10. I haven't used premium for DiscordSl yet, but the site itself generates decent traffic so it's worth a try. DiscordSl can be bumped once every 3 hours.
Any other listing sites that offer premiums are probably not worth the money. If you'd like to have a discussion about it, I am happy to do so and I will explain to you why I omited a site. I want to make sure you're not wasting your money.
✅ If you don't have money to spare, that's fine. Stick to bumping on Discord.me and DiscordSl, and make sure to use these services below in conjunction with them.
Disboard
DISBOARD is by far the most effective free Discord advertising platform out there. In fact, it's more effective than almost every paid platform except for Discord.me, all while being free! DISBOARD receives the highest traffic out of every platform. It's search engine optimized, reaching the top of google results for discord + key word searches. You can bump your server on DISBOARD once every 2 hours, so I highly recommend a bot like Unbelievaboat to help you time your bumps by setting reminders that ping staff members
Tip: In order to get the most out of DISBOARD, you can experiment with google trends to discover popular search tags that fit the style of your server. Make sure that your tags are optimized, as you only have 5 tags to choose from. Bump every 2 hours if possible. Make sure your server description is rhetorical and effective. You want people who see your server to take it seriously, so it's important that your description is well thought out and well written. Getting positive ratings may also help.

Reddit is another very powerful tool for advertising both free and effectively. You can post an ad to this subreddit every 24 hours, otherwise a bot will delete your post.
Tip: For reddit, I recommend a long, descriptive and enticing title. Your title should be similar to your server summary or description. You should also make sure you pick the right time to post your ad, because traffic rises and declines throughout different periods of the day, I find that around 7 PM EST is generally a good time to post an ad, but it's inconsistent. If you see around 80 or more users online on the sub, it's probably the right time to post.
Server Listing Hubs:
Discord hub servers (like ours) are worth mentioning because when used in conjunction with other listing servers, your chance of gaining members increases. On our server, I have been gaining a couple of users per day by posting our ad all over various discord listing servers. When joining server hub,s keep in mind that partnerships are a good option for servers looking for that extra boost. Rep 4 Rep partnerships are much better than standard partnerships for growth, and with the addition of Discord Folders it's now easier to stay in many servers at once.
Here are a couple of server hubs besides my own.
Advertise Your Server
Self-Promotion Central
Tip: Visit the 'listing servers' channel for any hub server, and join as many hub servers as possible. The more hub servers you join, the greater your chance of gaining members who stick around. One mistake many people make is that they stick to just 1 or 2 hub servers, and then they wonder why they never gain members from it. This is one example of 'the more the merrier'. Make folders and join as many hub servers as you can.

Some additional mentions: Discordbots.org is a non-bump listing site with good traffic. Discordlisting.me"]https://discordlisting.me/#page:1;size:18]Discordlisting.me occasionally brings in members, but not very often. Partner Bot is the best bump bot I have used so far, even though I've only earned 2 (net) members from it. I will mention the other viable bump bots in another thread. You can also use social media to promote your Discord server.
Recap:
1: Disboard (1 bump per 2 hours, good tags are needed, good description is needed, and people need a reason to join your server. You have to offer something that makes you stand out and you want to avoid looking too rudimentary.)
2: Reddit r/discordservers 1 ad per day, make sure your title is lengthy and alluring. Make sure you're posting your ad during peak traffic.)
3: Discord Server Hubs (Our server is one example. we use about 30 and counting to advertise in daily. It works. Rep 4 Rep partnerships are also a nice option to make good use of server hubs.)
4: Discordservers.me, Discord.me premium memberships. DiscordSL premium (requires patreon donation) is also really helpful. If you can't pay use basic, it will still work, just not as well.
5: External outreach: Advertising on social media, writing a blog post, etc can help you get noticed if you're wise and know what you're doing.
