Top 5 quickest ways to grow your server *for free*
Want to know how to grow your server quickly for free? Well here are my top 5 methods to grow your server that are 100% free, and none of these methods involve the dreaded DM advertising strategy that many unfortunately resort to.
Fastest: Join4Join, Rep4Rep, DISBOARD, Reddit, Ad Servers,
5. Advertising Servers
Advertising servers can help you grow your server very fast, but it really depends the type of server you run, the public interest it receives, and other factors. For a detailed explanation of this, read this. Advertising your server is a very competitive field, and the joins you earn from advertising servers are typically very gradual. However, by posting your advertisement on a large myriad of servers, you are guaranteed to experience at least some amount of success providing your server is appealing and your advertisement is persuasive. I personally have seen some servers grow at an incredibly rapid pace from these servers, however these were mostly advertising and NSFW servers. This however does not mean that one cannot grow quickly with other types of servers, it really depends on public interest and the amount of people exposed to your ad. Below is a list of some of my favorite advertising servers you can join. You can post in most of these servers multiple times each day.

EMPIRE
Discord EMOJI

4. Reddit
Reddit is a really great site for advertising, specifically on r/discordservers, and you may post your ad once per day there without risking any trouble with the moderation bot. Going over the 1 day limit would be breaking the rules of most of these subreddits. This one is really simple. Basically, head over to the r/discordservers subreddit and hit 'Create Post'. Check 'Community Details' try to post when the traffic isn't at a low. Post when the 'online' user count is experiencing a peak in traffic. For instance, if there are more than 120 members of the r/discordservers subreddit currently online, it would probably be a good time to post your server. Make sure the description is long and persuasive, and your invite link is permanent. R/discordservers is the best subreddit, however there are others that can be posted on as well.

3. DISBOARD
DISBOARD is arguably the most effective Discord server listing website on the net. The main reason for its success could be attributed to its search engine optimization as it appears very often in all types of Discord related google searches. Boasting an impressive 3.4 million visits per month, it currently experiences over 3x the traffic as one of its prime competitors, Discord.me. However, despite the very high traffic of the website, many server owners are missing out on crucial information that would allow them to make the most out of DISBOARD.
For a tutorial on how to make the most out of DISBOARD, click here. Many people are aware of DISBOARD's existence but haven't learned how to optimize their growth potential on the site, so hopefully this guide can help some of you. Making the most out of DISBOARD requires bumping every 2 hours (no exceptions, if this is difficult for you than use an online timer or a bot to help you bump on time and ask friends to help out.) You will also be required to learn how to optimize your tags and description. High approval ratings may also be able to potentially help increase the join rate of your server.
2. Rep Partnerships
Partnerships can be an effective way to grow, but in most cases, the only person who joins your server from a partnership is the person you partnered with. Rep partnerships basically assure that each partnership you involve yourself in leads to at least one new member in your server. These are basically partnerships in which in most cases, both you and the person you're partnering with join each other's servers as 'reps'. With this said, you will often see partner managers using words such as 'We do rep 4 rep' or 'must send a rep'. This is because many people are aware that in most cases, partnerships rely on reps in order to be effective.
If you are interested in gaining many members fast, mass partnering on servers such as AYS, SPC, Hydronix, Open Advertisements, DGP and more can help you gain an increase in members at a very quick rate. To find people to partner with, join advertising servers and DM people searching for partnerships. You can also find partners by hitting Ctrl+F in each advertising channel, and DMing people whose server ad includes key words such as 'partnership(s)'. You can also post that you are looking for partnerships in channels dedicated to it as often as you'd like to, although only some people frequent these channels.
1. Join4Join Servers
Welcome to the dark world. This is the rock bottom of advertising. I would not generally recommend this method.
By far the quickest free way to gain members is via Join4Join. Join4Join is similar to partnering, except instead of sending ads that have to be posted in channels, you just join each other's server and call it a day. There are many servers dedicated to this form of advertisement, many of which can be found here.
By joining and posting in large quantities of these servers and DMing people looking to j4j, you can gain substantial amounts of members, easily hundreds from these servers altogether. These servers are so effective that tons of them exist. However due to the shady nature of j4j, it is a practice that's certainly not for everybody. Very few of the people you engage in these practices with have any intent on ever using your server, certainly fewer than those who join as reps.
Many if not most are involved in this practice for invite rewards. These servers are also plagued with bot accounts that spam you in DM, and some users sneakily leave your server afterward. Think about what your reason is for wanting to gain these quick members. Is it to gain perks of listing websites or advertising servers? Is it so more real members might take your server seriously as it would appear larger? Is it for invite rewards? Because while these servers are tremendously effective, the members who join are rarely going to be of high quality for your server.
